The BCS is good because it emphasizes importance on every game, and if a team wants to win the national championship, they have to be ranked number one or number two in the BCS standings at the end of the regular season.

The BCS accounts for a higher level of competition because sometimes losing just one game can take a team out of the national championship picture.

The BCS also provides its own share of excitement such as when three teams are undefeated with one week to go in the regular season.

With a playoff, that wouldn't matter because all three teams would get in. Then the teams ranked one or two would not have the added pressure to win their last game to assure their spot in the national championship game.
