Recycling program recently upgraded

Recycling bins encourage students to think before they throw away trash.

SDSU's recycling program had a successful first year and hopes to expand next year. Student Association began the recycling program in residence halls last year. In the past, the program consisted of recycling dumpsters next to trash dumpsters. Andrew Natzel, head of the campus recycle program, said students were confused which one was for recycling and which was for trash.

STARS help others learn to ride horses

Students can volunteer their time and horses to help disabled people have a day of fun with animals.

For the past 13 summers, a group of very special people has gathered at the Circle H Ranch to provide a therapeutic horsemanship program to people with developmental disabilities in Brookings and the surrounding area. STARS, an acronym for Special Training And Riding Skills, aims to teach basic horsemanship skills to its riders while also providing them with physical benefits.

Movie trilogies ending

I love summer beyond any other season, not only because of no classes, nice weather and barbecued food. Summer also features some of the biggest and best movies of the entire year. This is when studios unveil the movies that will pay salaries for the rest of the year.
