Five rules for texting

University Chronicle, Saint Cloud State University, MN

1 day ago by Joe Brown

Text messaging is the bane of my existence.

Sure, there are times when sending someone a text message is convenient; while covering a game for the Chronicle, sitting in class or just bored in church. When a simple conversation on your cell phone is impossible, a text can be just as good.

FREDERICK: Is it laziness or recession in sheep's clothing?

Iowa State Daily, Iowa State University, IA

1 day ago by Ryan Frederick

From a common sense standpoint right now, we're in a recession." Thus spoke the venerated Oracle of Omaha, Warren Buffett, some five months ago. In the intervening time economic prospects have done little to improve: Prices have ballooned, all the major stock market indices have continued their downward trend, major Wall Street players have either been seriously damaged or - as in the case of Bear Stearns - collapsed entirely.

PRELL: Virtual disappointment

Christianity has been around for a long time. About 2,000 years some would say. For slightly less time than that, it has been the dominant religion on Earth, shaping the course of human history and development for better some would say, and for worse, others would say.

EDITORIAL: Americans rightly fail to react to Obama's travels

Iowa State Daily, Iowa State University, IA

Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan, Israel, Germany, France and Britain. Quite the vacation itinerary, really. Recent polls, however, suggest that Barack Obama's whirlwind tour of the Middle East and Western Europe has done little to influence the American electorate.

Hard work is threatening family

University Chronicle, Saint Cloud State University, MN

3 days ago by Samantha Hesse

America is known throughout the world as one of the fastest paced and hardest working nations there is today.

Our citizens have the option of working not only the day shift, but also the night shift.

We can build large buildings within a year. Corporations have twenty-four-hour hotline services that are able to answer all of our questions or concerns at anytime of the day or night.
